It is best to strip the old sealer, but it is not 100% necessary.
1. If you do not strip the old sealer, you can use a pressure washer and a stiff plastic scrub brush to remove as much as possible of the old sealer. Once you complete the scrubbing process you will have to wash the surface with SealGreen Oil Cleaner Degreaser to increase the bondability of the existing surface.
a. Keep in mind that you will be applying the SealGreen Poly FlexCoat on a surface that has week areas, and it will peel overtime in does areas. How long will it take to peel, it is dependent on weather exposure, foot traffic or vehicular traffic, etc.
b. When the peeling happens, you can easily just reapply more SealGreen Poly FlexCoat.
c. SealGreen is not responsible or offers any warranty on coating over old coatings or sealers.
2. 2. The best solution is to remove the existing sealer using SealGreen CSR1600 Coating remover, and then you will be applying the Poly FlexCoat to a more secure surface and reduce the potential peeling.
