It is very typical to see color change in new construction. Usually, the color change is because during hot or warm days the floor will exhale the water or humidity left from the initial installation. This is assumed that there is no other water source getting under the slab. Eventually the concrete will dry out and no more color changes will occur. If your vault does not have windows and it is fully covered it is going to take some time for the new concrete slab to exhale all the humidity.
Once the floor dries, it will be fine for a stain application and finished with a high gloss sealer.
For your application we recommend the following process:
1. Wash the floor with SealGreen Color Stain Primer – We area assuming the new concrete has no cure and seal from the initial application.
2. Apply the SealGreen color stain – color chart using your sprayer or a simple garden pump sprayer.
3. Apply one or two coats of SealGreen E10 Epoxy vapor barrier concrete sealer to enhance the wet look of the color and to provide a vapor barrier. The sealer is rolled.
4. If you are looking for a high gloss apply one or two coats of SealGreen W10 High Gloos floor finish sealer. The sealer is rolled.
This solution will give you a colorful high gloss floor including a humidity barrier to protect whatever you will be storing in your vault.
If you need help we can configure a product quote for your project. We need the total square feet of the floor to be treated.
