A densifier has an entirely different purpose for the concrete than a sealer.
Densifiers are used when polishing concrete to create a harder surface so it can be polished to reach a high gloss level when polishing. Densifiers are applied at every step of the polishing process. Densifiers do not seal the concrete.
Sealers are designed to protect concrete from water or other chemical penetration into the concrete. Sealers do not harden the concrete.
They are two types of sealers:
1. For polished concrete, a penetrating sealer is recommended because it is inside of concrete and does not change the look or the surface of the concrete. Especially when protecting polished concrete and its natural polished look.
2. If it is not a penetrating sealer then it will be a surface sealer. This is a coating that goes on top of the surface of the concrete to protect. Similar to painting on the wall. The surface sealer will change the look of the concrete potentially changing the color and making the concrete slippery.
