The white is the glue used for the polymeric sand to stick to together and make it hard and more permanent between the pavers. When the polymeric sand is not applied correctly it will leave part of its glue on the surface of the paver and turn white.
To remove this glue, you need to use SealGreen SCR 1600 Costing Remover. Be aware that it will require re-application of polymeric sand again after removing the white stains.
Our experience shows that high pressure washing with cold or hot water does not work and damages the surface of the pavers and your landscape. SealGreen Efflorescence Cleaner will NOT work for this application.
To make the color stronger of the pavers known as the “Wet Look,” you will have to use a surface coating. Keep in mind that you will be closing the breathing capability of the pavers and have a high potential of hazing due to humidity entrapment underneath the pavers. It also requires that you apply the surface coating every two years to maintain the “Wet Look.’
Our recommendation is SealGreen Paver Sealer which is a penetrating chemical reactive that has Salt Defense Technology. This sealer does not change the look or the surface of the existing pavers. It only needs replication 5 to 7 years.
