ANSWER:
We recommend the following to protect your new concrete and mitigate from staining and dog urine smell going forward.
- Before applying, our sealer wash the floor with SealGreen Color Strain Primer. This will remove the latency powder created from the initial pour and cure the concrete.
- Apply SealGreen Kennel Concrete Sealer. This can take place 3 or 4 days after the initial installation of the concrete no need to wait 30 days. The sealer will also work as a cure and seal during the initial 30 days. IMPORTANT: If the concrete installer applies a cure sealer to the concrete when installing it will have to be removed before SealGreen Sealers can be applied. It is best to cure the concrete with water on the first days after pouring.
- The SealGreen Kennel Concrete Sealer will need a refresher every 4 to 5 years. No removal of old sealers is necessary just wash and apply sealer.
- The application of the sealer will NOT change the surface or the look of the new concrete.
- We also recommend using SealGreen Kennel Cleaner to clean the concrete regularly or dog urine. The cleaner is safe for the environment, animals’ landscape, and people. The cleaner breaks the urine apart and removes the smell on the concrete and grass area. The cleaner can be used to clean all dog toys, food dishes, house, blankets, and any washable surface.
