Hail can damage stamped concrete, but it’s uncommon and depends on conditions.
- Well, installed, fully cured stamped concrete is generally very durable and usually is not damaged by typical hail. But Severe storms with large hail can cause surface pitting especially on textured or decorative finishes where the surface layer is thinner or more detailed.
- Damage is more likely if the concrete has a decorative or textured top layer rather than a smooth finish. In short: hail usually doesn’t damage stamped concrete, but extreme hail can affect the surface, and any damage is typically cosmetic rather than structural.
- The sealer may be pitted and the color stain may also be pitted or fade due to severe hail impacts.
- To correct this, it will be required to reapply the color stain and sealer.
