The recommended process to fix your breeze-way room is as follows:
1. Apply SealGreen Kennel Disinfectant to all washable surfaces this includes about 3-feet and below on all walls and doors and to the entire 200 Sqft. floor. This will disinfect the floor mitigate the urine smell and prevent future animals from peeing on the room. You will need 1-Quart of SealGreen Kennel Disinfectant.
2. Wash all the areas where the disinfectant was applied with SealGreen Kennel Cleaner. This product will penetrate the tiles and mortar between tiles and dissolve all the urine that has been crystallized over time so it can be washed away. I recommend using a Wet/Dry vacuum to pick up all the water when rinsing. This will help pull whatever dissolved urine left on the floor. You will need 1-Quart of SealGreen Kennel Cleaner
3. Allow all the wash areas to dry for at least 24 hours (the longer the better) to insure that all humidity on the floor has exited the floor and prevent humidity encapsulation. The benefit of a well dry floor is that when the room gets warm it will not start emanating humidity like it does now. To help the floor dry place some fans on the floor in the room to move the air during drying time.
4. You have two choices of sealers depending on the finish look you like (The recommended sealers will encapsulate whatever smell may be let if any):
a. SealGreen Poly Matte Sealer – This will provide a matte finish and make the tiles look wet. Or SealGreen Poly Shine Sealer – Which will provide a Gloss finish and make tiles wet looking. You will need 2-Quarts of either one for a two-coat application.
b. SealGreen Kennel Poly – StepGuard – This will make the floor look semi-gloss, tiles wet looking and provide a finish with anti-slip surface that meets the American Act for Disabilities when wet. You will need 1 Gallon of SealGreen Kennel Poly – StepGuard for a two-coat application.
5. I also recommend painting all walls and trims with regular paint to encapsulate any smell.
6. We recommend this solution to all commercial kennels when they want to eliminate the urine smell of their kennel.
